Albania's Euro 2024 campaign came to an end on Wednesday with a 1-0 defeat to Spain in Tirana. The result means that Spain have secured top spot in Group D, while Albania are eliminated from the competition.
Albania started the match brightly, but they were unable to create any clear-cut chances. Spain grew into the game as the half progressed, and they took the lead in the 25th minute through a goal from Álvaro Morata. Albania pushed for an equaliser in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past the Spanish defence.
The defeat means that Albania have now lost all three of their matches at Euro 2024. They conceded two goals in each of their previous two games, a 1-2 defeat to Italy and a 2-2 draw with Croatia.
